Douglas County District Manager

Title: Douglas County District Manager
Area: Douglas County, KS
Reports to: Debbie Harman
Status: Full-Time, Salaried


Primary Responsibilities:

Junior Achievement of Kansas is looking for a full-time (or part-time) District Manager to help us inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy

Qualifications (required)

The Douglas County District Manager reports to the Douglas County District Director and will:
• Manage and/or assist with preparation, coordination and completion of special events in the Douglas County area
• Maintain records for events and programs
• Compose, draft and edit correspondence and other written communication
• Prepare and record financial deposits
• Cultivate local partnerships with community businesses and organizations to assist with program and financial goals
• Assist in preparing materials for Board and committee meetings
• Assist with volunteer recruitment, coordination and training
• Assist with entering classroom data
• Teach JA classes in Lawrence as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Required: The right candidate will thrive in a remote working environment, and have strong interpersonal, organization and planning skills. Must have home high speed internet and personal cell phone for remote working environment. Experience with successful fundraising and volunteer coordination is a plus. Must be articulate in oral and written communication. Must be creative and willing to assist with varied responsibilities as needed. Must have advanced computer skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher) and Microsoft Outlook and be comfortable with learning new computer programs and office technology. Must be self-motivated with the ability to work remotely and manage time efficiently. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds. Travel within Kansas and occasional weekend and evening hours will be required. Must live within Douglas County. Must have a valid drivers’ license and reliable transportation. Mileage reimbursement within Lawrence city limits.

Paid individual health and dental insurance for full-time only. Family insurance is available. Generous paid time off policy and 401K plan with at least double matching funds.

Operations and Events Manager (Full-Time)

Junior Achievement of Kansas is looking for a full-time Operations and Events Manager to help us inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.

Title: Operations and Events Manager (Full-Time)
Area: Topeka and Shawnee County
Reports to: Ashley Charest
Status: Full-Time, Salaried


Primary Responsibilities:

The Operations and Events Manager will:
• Manage and/or assist with preparation, coordination and completion of special events in Topeka and throughout Kansas
• Maintain records for events and programs
• Compose, draft and edit correspondence and other written communication
• Assist with meeting program and financial goals
• Prepare and record deposits
• Create and manage invoicing
• Manage office staff material needs
• Prepare materials for and coordinate Board and committee meeting scheduling
• Coordinate meetings and appointments, answer incoming telephone calls
• Assist with volunteer coordination and training
• Assist with entering classroom data
• Teach a couple of JA classes per year in Topeka
• Other duties as assigned
